Cauliflower Bake

Delicious and easy to make cauliflower bake recipe using creme fraiche and parmesan cheese

cauliflower bake

This cauliflower bake has quickly become a family favourite. It is so tasty and best of all is quick to prepare and bake. It has kindly been provided by Emma Long from her book More Quick and Easy Homemade Meals: Simple Tasty Dishes for the Busy Person and though these ingredients are for one portion they can easily be multiplied for larger families.

The Drummer Boy

The Drummer Boy is my latest novel about the ghost of a Gordon Highlander Drummer Boy from the Battle of Waterloo who haunts a modern day army nurse.

Chapters take place in modern day Aberdeen, at the Noose & Monkey bar and restaurant as well as His Majesty’s Theatre and Garthdee. Other scenes take place at Tidworth and during the Napoleonic War.

Read the first three chapters for free on most devices.

Ingredients

3 medium cauliflower florets

2 tablespoons of grated parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons of crème fraiche

1 pinch of salt

2 tablespoons of dried breadcrumbs

1 tablespoon of cracked black pepper

1 teaspoon of dried mixed herbs

How To Make Cauliflower Bake

Add the salt to a pan of water and bring it to the boil.

Cook the cauliflower until it becomes tender and then drain the water.

Mix the breadcrumbs, black pepper, mixed herbs and the parmesan cheese in a bowl.

Combine the crème fraiche and the cauliflower and then place it into an ovenproof dish. Sprinkle the breadcrumbs mixture over the top.

Bake in the oven on 180C/350F/Gas Mark 4 for twenty minutes.

Enjoy on its own or serve with your favourite meal. We enjoy our cauliflower bake with chicken schnitzel.
