The Drummer Boy is my latest novel about the ghost of a Gordon Highlander Drummer Boy from the Battle of Waterloo who haunts a modern day army nurse.
Chapters take place in modern day Aberdeen, at the Noose & Monkey bar and restaurant as well as His Majesty’s Theatre and Garthdee. Other scenes take place at Tidworth and during the Napoleonic War.

A Question of Taste with host Kirsty Wark, the Newsnight presenter and former contestant on Celebrity Masterchef, Kirsty Wark is a food quiz on BBC2. The contestants are quizzed on a range of subjects ranging from identifying ingredients and recipes, cooking techniques and international cuisine. This is a new series for ITV1 which is a search for Britain's best loved recipe. It is a competition that anyone can enter, as an individual or as a group - all it takes is the ability to cook one delicious dish. The winning dish will earn its owner £20,000 as well as the pride of seeing their dish on the shelves of Marks & Spencer.
It could be a dish that has been passed on down through generations, an age-old, favourite recipe that you’d like to make a comeback or a traditional dish with a secret ingredient.
